Pin vises are tool holding devices that allow small tools to be held in place with positive acting jaws (think mini-chuck) with interchangeability depending on the effective diameters of the tool itself. These pin vises are available a few varieties, with tapered collets, insulated handles, double ends, and reduced lengths. to allow for a more rapid opening and closing of the chuck. This principle is applied to our ratchet stops on many of our micrometers.
